About Taking SunCam Video Courses

SunCam offers a choice of free streaming video or high quality DVDs for viewing our video courses. We use cloud computing to stream the video to your computer anywhere in the world. Our DVDs are the highest quality "replicated" DVDs. These are not the same as the "duplicated" DVDs that you burn on a personal computer. The discs will work best on a DVD player but they will also play on most DVD drives in personal computers as long as there is an appropriate software. The software that come with your computer may not be adequate but we have found that PowerDVD from Cyberlink is very reliable. A complete Video course includes the course Video plus a companion online test. One DVD may be used by any number of people but each person who takes the course for continuing education credit will need to purchase the test in order to access our online testing site. When you purchase a test you will receive an email with a unique login link and instructions for logging on and completing the test. If you order fifteen or more tests, you will receive a FREE DVD and the email will include one unique login link for each quantity that you ordered.

When you logon to the test, you will be asked for your license number(s) in addition to your name, and email address. If you are a Florida engineer or contractor, the number that you enter will be used to instantly and automatically report your credits directly to the Board. Be certain to enter your license number(s) correctly because this will be your only chance to be properly credited for attending the course. Florida engineers and contractors are not allowed to “self-report” their credits. All other states require the licensee to report credits and do not allow providers to do the reporting. Use the same unique login link to restart the test at any time to resume just where you left-off.

SPECIAL NOTE: for Florida licensed contractors
You may also log-on or log-off of the test at any time and as often as you like however Board rules for Florida contractors require that you must be actively involved in the online test for the full duration of the course. In other words, you must be logged-on to the test (in a single or in multiple sessions) for a total of 200 minutes for each 4-hour course before you will be allowed to submit your results for scoring. If there is no mouse or keyboard activity for a period of 15-minutes you will be automatically logged-off. This time restriction requirement is only imposed when a Florida contractor's license number is listed on the login page.

You take the test while watching the video (the questions are in the same order as they appear on the video). When you've finished you click the "Submit Test" button. If you achieve a passing score, we award you 4-Professional Development Hours (PDHs) of continuing education credit. A Certificate of Completion is displayed on the screen but you don't need to print it because it will also be emailed to you at the email address that you supplied when you logged-in. In the unlikely event that you fail to answer 70% of the questions correctly, your login link will be reset, allowing you to retake the test as often as necessary, at no additional cost.
