Course Description
NOTE: This course has been revised and updated to incorporate the latest version (USGBC-LEED v3) of the green building certification program.
Since the 1970s, there has been a disconnection between the willingness to adopt eco-conscious designs and materials in the design of new buildings. Initially, being conscientious about ecological matters was just a trend, and as it was labeled as just a “fad”, or passing passion, it quickly moved away from the front page of newspapers. Still, the realization of the problem of limited resources, and the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, stayed in the academic and scientific world.
The U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) through its implementation of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building System, has brought to the forefront the importance of designing green buildings. This paper will present an overview of all Prerequisites and Credits presented in USGBC-LEED v3 for New Construction document.

Course provides a good introduction into the basics of Green Design for someone wanting to gain knowledge in that area. The course is about the right length for the 4 hour credits. My only negative is that test question 3 is not covered in the material, contrary to what the detailed explanation of the test answers states. It is suggested that the test have a caveat stating each question has only one correct answer.

There were several typographical and grammatic editing errors throughout the course material. For example, on page 28 one of the lighting calculation methods is listed as "Space-Space" rather than "Space-by-Space".

Provided LEED requirements with some examples. A table or figure showing the process would have been helpful.
