Course Description
After you purchase the test, you will receive an email with links to open the look-up document, the test worksheet, email the author and login to the test. Use the same login link to restart the test at
any time to resume just where you left-off. When you've
finished the test, you click the "Submit Test" button. If you achieve a
passing score, we award you 4-Professional Development Hours (PDHs) of
continuing education credit. A Certificate of Completion is displayed
on the screen but you don't need to print it because it will also be
emailed to you at the email address that you supplied when you
logged-in. If you supply a Florida P.E. number when you login your credits will be automatically transmitted to the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and the Florida Department of Professional Regulation. In the unlikely event that you fail to answer 70% of the
questions correctly, your login link will be automatically
reset, allowing you to retake the test as often as necessary, at no
additional cost.

Addressing Actual Experience, 1.19.2012

In the past the Laws & Rules dealt with the organizational and management aspects of the Florida Statues (extremely boring and not applicable to the average/working engineer). Now they are using everyday practical examples which are far more useful and meaningful.
No matter how well we engineers may think we know the rules and laws it is extremely important (and eye opening) to review the correct procedures on a regular basis. After all, ours is an important profession and should be treated as such. We should all strive to continually improve our understanding of the rules and laws we work under.
As an aside; I work overseas in many different countries where there is very little engineering professionalism. They pretty much do as they wish regardless of signed contracts while ethics and professionalism are almost non existent. This sorry situation makes me appreciate that much more the high level of honesty and integrity we enjoy within the western world engineering community.

Rules Review Doesn't Need to be Boring After All, 11.1.2011

This SunCam course provides relevant, up to date info to the practicing engineer. The instructor's judicious choice of test question subject areas, unambiguous wording of each question and answer choices were key to keeping things both relevant and interesting on a subject most others would make or find dry or boring. The hypothetical examples used in this course reflect many of the practical situations practicing engineers may be faced with. The developer/instructor of this course may not realize he has performed a great service for the engineering community as a whole as well as the State Board(s) to "get their message out" in a manner it can be more easily understood, remembered and employed in practical ways day to day by the practicing professional.

The course and test are exactly what they should be. I highly recommend this course. The website search feature does not work on my iMac but I was able to use the built-in search feature in iBooks on my iPad.
